The example used in week’s podcast is  either an African golden jackal, a subspecies of grey wold that’s separate from the Eurasian jackal, or a new wolf species depending on which system of  species identification you prefer. It also points out how Nature can foil our attempts to put labels on living being and expect them to last forever.
