Danaus chrysippus
Two thoughts that occurred to me as I worked on this podcast. One: the African Queen butterfly also is known as the African Monarch. Could a similar fate await some US monarchs if efforts to save them fail? Two: As I read the study on the bacteria-butterfly-evolutionary connection, I kept thinking about the myth of the Amazons. Did some ancient Greek scientist observe this same phenomenon in butterflies and ponder what would happen if similar conditions befell the human species?
