Episode 460 – The Expanding Canine and Human Perceptions

Does anything cross your mind when you look at this image?  For years, I would have said, “Nope. Not a doggone thing.” Why this benign space-occupying lesion suddenly commanded my attention is the subject of this week’s podcast.

The day after I completed this podcast, I came across an example of the phenomenon it discussed. I read an an article in a national magazine in which the author described how much she loved the “severely obese” dog she perceived as a family member. What she considered the gross hypocrisy inherent in that great love and eating chicken precipitated her conversion to vegetarianism. I’m sure this made perfectly good sense to her.
