Episode 465 – Anxiety and Animal Learning

Does anxiety influence animal learning? If so, how? If most of us are honest with ourselves, we recognize that when we’re anxious and let our fears run away with us, thoughtful consideration is MIA.  If you’ve ever watched some dogs fall apart when a firetruck screams by or during a thunderstorm, you also know that attempts to reason with them at these times most likely won’t work either.

This podcast considers the relationship between learning in anxious and relaxed humans and dogs and the unique challenges that face researchers who study this connection in dogs.
