What kinds of thoughts pop into your mind when you hear the phrase “regrettable human-animal rituals”? For many people, aggression-supporting behaviors that they tolerated beyond the point of no return in the name of love often head the list. But other kinds of regrettable companion animal rituals can cause people as much anguish as that one. And for as bizarre as some of the rituals described in this podcast may sound, all have befallen real animals belonging to real people I’ve encountered over the years.
